I've already built my
website elsewhere. Can you transfer it over for me?
A:
Unfortunately we're not able to do this. Your website data is
completely confidential to you, so we're unable to access your
files. However, to transfer it over to us you can simply make a
local copy of all your files and then upload it to our servers
using FTP.
Will I be able to view my
website with a temporary address?
A:
The ability to view an account using a temporary URL is
sometimes useful whilst waiting for your domain name to go live
or be transferred. Via the Plesk control panel, which all
users are provided with, you can preview the content held
locally in a virtual environment.
What security / backup measures
do you take?
A:
We take security very seriously. All our servers are monitored
continuously so we are able to respond immediately to any
problems. Our network has multi-layer protection and with
multiple redundancy. We use high spec servers hosted in our own
UK colocation racks.
Our servers are fully RAID (copied) in real-time to ensure that
if any problems should occur the data from the server is
available for restore.
What are the minimum contract
terms for shared hosting accounts?
A:
There is no minimum contract term. All accounts are based on
monthly payments, so you can terminate your account at any time
as required after your first month. Please note certain items
are non-refundable, including: domain names, secure certificates
and software licensing fees.

How many visitors or hits can I get per x GB
data transfer per month?
A:
It's impossible for us to give you a figure. There are many
factors that contribute to this. For example if your website is
mainly plain text, every hit or visitor is using relatively less
bandwidth than a graphics-heavy site. Using the example of 1 GB
bandwidth, on a 10 KB page, that will allow 10,000 page
impressions.
What is monthly traffic and how
is this calculated?
A:
Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors
to a web site. Each time a visitor views a page on a website,
they download the html, images and any other components that
form that page onto their local computer; this information is
then pieced together by a web browser to correctly display the
page.
This download of information from your web-server contributes
towards your monthly traffic allowance.
To ensure fair network usage, each hosting account has its own
monthly traffic allowance based upon the needs of each account
type.
Should you exceed your bandwidth allowance, all excess bandwidth
with be charged at £1.50 per each GB you break into over your
allowance. Any charges will be added to your account
automatically.
To ensure no hidden surprises you can view how much bandwidth
you are currently using via your online control panel, bandwidth
quotes are also clearly stated in each product page.

You mention POP3 email accounts. Do you also
support SMTP?
A:
Yes, we offer POP3, SMTP and IMAP email accounts.
What restrictions do you have on
your email accounts?
A:
E-mail is not the most efficient method for transferring large
files, so to prevent your mail delivery being hampered by large
emails sent by other customers we have set a limit of 25MB on
the combined total size of the email plus attachment. We do not
have a specific limit on the number of emails you can
send/receive. We would recommend using FTP for the transfer of
larger files.

What Operating System do your servers use?
A:
All our servers are based on Linux, either Debian or Centos
depending on the required task.
Do you support .NET & MS SQL
Server?
A:
No, all of our servers are Linux based .NET, along with with
full ASP support are Windows server applications and solutions.
Do you support ASP?
A:
No, all of our servers are Linux based therefore fulll ASP
support is not available. However, our servers do support
Chillisoft Apache ASP which will emulate quite a bit of ASP.
Do you support streaming media?
A:
Streaming is a process that allows web visitors to view media at
the same time (real-time) as downloading it, for example:
watching a live TV broadcast or listening to a live university
lecture.
Streaming in this sense is not possible on our hosting accounts.
Visitors to your website will however be able to download video
and media (such as .mp3 or .rm) files from your webspace, whilst
technically not streaming the majority of media players now
allow clips to start playing whilst they are downloaded.
