Understanding monthly usage allowances
Our Gaming Unlimited broadband packages have no
fixed monthly limits.
I'm not a fan of long term contracts, are there
any arrangements we can come to?
Yes. A 12 month contract is the default option, however, if you would rather have a 1 month minimum contract, this can be arranged via a one-off upfront extra £49.95 fee at the start of the contract. The monthly price remains as listed in the table above. Please call us on 01746 708090 if you need further clarity on this option.
Understanding line sync and expected speeds
The actual speed achieved depends upon the distance
from the exchange and quality of the telephone line. At certain times,
congestion within the network may also result in reduced speeds. In all
cases we will provide you with an estimated "sync range" that your telephone
line will support prior to agreeing a contract with ourselves. If you wish to discuss
the quality of your line in technical detail, please do get in touch. We
will happily go into detailed specifics.
Is this product compatible with Smart TV's, BBC
iPlayer and Sky Anytime+?
Yes, both the BBC iPlayer service and various
streaming services that are enabled in smart TVs are fully compatible.
Likewise Sky's Anytime+ service will also work via the Aquiss Gaming Unlimited broadband service, allowing you to watch catch-up
television via your Sky set-top box and your Aquiss broadband connection.
Please note certain services such as streaming (e.g. BBC iPlayer) require a
minimum connection speed in order to perform effectively. If your connection
speed falls below this minimum speed threshold you may be unable to use the
service. Most of these services offer a free checker which will allow you to
test if your connection is suitable to support the service. For more
detailed information please check the minimum speed requirements with the
service provider. For example, the BBC iPlayer website states a minimum
speed of 1Mbps is recommended.
What about Traffic Shaping, Traffic Management,
Traffic Throttling or Port Blocking?
We are very proud that our Aquiss Gaming Unlimited
broadband packages are supplied as a "Pure Bandwidth" service. What we mean by
this is the service is supplied free of any form of shaping, management,
restrictions or blocks.
What is the Gaming Mode mentioned above
all about?
In order to prevent packet loss and avoid high
latency during the online gaming experience, we have combined our own
in-house Anti-Loss Tool (ALT) that monitors the network performance with
controls for technical aspects such as FAST Path, Interleaving, Latency and
Target SNR (line noise) levels.
How long will it take to migrate a broadband
service to Aquiss?
Migrations (via a MAC Key) are completed within 7 to
10 days, although it’s often even less than this. Bulk migrations can take
up to 10 working days depending on quantity. You can expect a short service
interruption of between 20 minutes and 2 hours on the day of migration – but
it’s worth it once it’s done!
If I want to end my contract, is there a charge?
Maybe, depending on what your looking to do. If
your not moving your service to another ISP, known as migrating, there would
be a £40.00 Broadband Cease fee. If your migrating away from Aquiss (via the
use of a MAC Key) there would be no charge. Of course, if there are any
remaining months left on your minimum contract to complete, you would also need
to settle these in full. It should be noted that charges will also be triggered
if your telephone service is cancelled causing our broadband service to be
ceased.
I am moving home, is there a charge?
Yes. There will be a £40.00 Broadband Cease fee to end the service at your current property. If there are any
remaining months left on your minimum contract to complete, whilst at this property, you would also need to settle these in full. Contracts are not transferred between properties. Reactivation charges at your new property are possible,
subject to contract options available and availability. It should be noted that charges will also be triggered
if your telephone service is cancelled causing our broadband service to be ceased.
I notice there are a couple of options to
increase the upload sync up to 2.2 Mbps. Do I need any special hardware?
Yes. To take advantage of enhanced upload syncs, a
router or modem that supports ADSL2+ Annex M is required.
Is the Aquiss Gaming Unlimited range available in
my area?
Coverage of our Gaming Unlimited range is available
to around 75% of the UK population. If you wish to enquire about
availability in your area do give us a call on 01746 708090.
Are there any other options I can think about?

that can be added at any time to enhance the service further, if you so
choose.

single static IP to a no-nat range of 8 static IPs for £2.00 a month (£12.00
one-off setup charge).
- You can upgrade from our standard SMTP service to Authenticated SMTP (send
